Astrology is more than just a passing trend, and everyone is talking about their star signs more than ever today. Many people feel that they identify with the characteristics and personality traits of all the signs we find among the stars. Horoscopes and astrological signs are a popular subject among some people living a spiritually orientated lifestyle. Compatibility among partners, good traits or bad habits and what’s part of our destiny are some things that may be associated with when we were born. Some preferences that are said to be part of certain star signs can even be reflected in how we shape and decorate the spaces in which we live.
Having already explored the star signs belonging to the fire element in a previous blog post, today we can take a closer look at those belonging to the earth element: Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. These star signs are said to be solid and grounded, and have a greater need for security and stability. Nevertheless, personalities do differ, just like the homes in which they live and express themselves in. That being said, let’s now look at the comfortable arrangements of the Taurus, the elegant living spaces of the perfectionist Virgo, and the sleek styles of the Capricorn.

This is how the solid and dependable Taurus lives

Many adjectives may be used to describe someone with a Taurus star sign. They are dependable, grounded, calm, sometimes stubborn, and punctual to name just a few traits. Someone with a Taurus sign is usually patient, and resonates well with other people due to their open nature. They are also creative and skilled with their hands in general. This means that you will often encounter a Taurus making music, or simply crafting something. Tauruses commonly are associated with DIY projects, which likely comes from their close affinity to nature. Because of this they are happy to be outdoors and have fun gardening. For this reason a Taurus is natural and casual in terms of fashion and furniture. You are likely to find natural materials such as leather, wool, silk, fur, or wood in the home of a Taurus. Upholstered furniture, velvet accessories, and tables and chairs made of solid wood add a touch of luxury to their living spaces. Skilful arrangements and combinations are one of the strengths that a Taurus has, as they have an affinity for different styles. Colonial style and Victorian influences meet Eastern and retro design, which are then paired with further eclectic arrangements. Country chic with rustic elements make the Taurus feel at home, and when things need to look a bit more modern, then some Scandinavian elements can be integrated in interesting ways. “Natural” is the main motto to be used here. The colour palettes that the Taurus makes use of go in the same natural direction. They love natural tones such as brown, beige, and green, and often complement their heavy and dark furniture with touches of bright fabrics and accessories. Vintage rugs and other tasteful touches help round up the comfort factor, because after all, being comfortable is the most important thing for the Taurus in their home.

These arrangements bring joy to the Virgo

Among friends and family the Virgo is known as a perfectionist and as someone with a talent for organisation. They love to plan events, have impeccable manners and are mostly quite rational in their thinking. The stylish and elegant Virgo is intellectual and can be quite discriminating in regards to what they do in their free time. They are interested in art, culture, and aesthetics. This is reflected in their clothing and their living style. The home of the Virgo possesses a classic elegance, with a preference for clear lines, which accentuate and emphasize order and structure. Chaos and superfluous accessories are not welcome, while smartly organised storage spaces are greatly appreciated. The arrangement does not seek to overwhelm, as quality is clearly put over quantity. Decorative objects are chosen carefully and intelligently utilized. Silver picture frames, crystal glass, vases, and candle holders are perfect for this purpose. Wood is the preferred material in the home of the Virgo, and colours such as beige, sand, grey, or white are used to create a neutral and muted look. Blue, pink, and turquoise are used as accents. With the classical style in mind, large upholstered furniture, large lamps, and bright fabrics are quite often used. Geometric forms can be tastefully added and the ideal arrangement of the Virgo has the aesthetic of a luxury hotel - sleek yet high class. The Virgo likes to take it slow, and to very consciously allot time for friends and leisure. This has the purpose of reducing stress, and helps add focus to life and work. The Virgo truly knows what’s important in life and that not everything is about going higher, being better, or doing more. However, if something needs to be done, then it’s always done conscientiously and correctly.
