Geometric patterns? Sounds just like mathematics, but it's much more beautiful. You can bring this new interior trend directly into your home and easily implement it with small accessories and cool eye-catchers. Crisp lines, abstract patterns and strong contrasts bring a certain liveliness to your four walls. Whether they’re triangles, squares, diamonds, squares, circles, lines, stripes or dots - these shapes make up the geometric style and you will now come across them more and more often. The patterns can appear on textiles, wallpaper or furniture and complement a wide variety of interior styles.
Originally, the geometric patterns come from the Scandinavian decorating style. They represent an atmosphere of cosiness, but also express a certain minimalism. Accordingly, you can combine geometric patterns very easily with Scandinavian or Hygge styles. Geometrically shaped furniture such as lamps or side tables often also have a strong individual effect, which is why it all goes well together with a modern, minimalist or even extravagant style.

What should you consider when using geometric patterns and shapes?

As always: Less is more. You should by no means overload an entire room with geometric patterns, but rather start in a low-key way. Small highlights or exciting accents are usually all it takes to make a big impact. The shapes should also not be combined too chaotically with each other. It's best to stick to one or two patterns or shapes and create a sense of energy with small highlights.
So, to integrate the geometric style, small accessories and eye-catchers are enough. You don't have to throw away or replace your furniture. You can keep your basic interior as it is. Simply use vases, lamps or pictures and start with small steps. If you feel more ambitious, you can, of course, change the wallpaper or get a large carpet.
